stablished in 1905 as a family owned business for trade and export of jute and textiles in Calcutta (now Kolkata). In 1957, the company ventured into manufacturing of textiles and a composite textile mill named "Sajjan Mills Ltd." was established in Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh). It was one of the largest textile mills in central India during 1960's and employed over 3000 people. A township was developed around the mill which comprised of schools, hospitals, residences and a temple. To diversify further a new entity was formed - 'Sajjan Chemicals Pvt Ltd' for manufacturing Dye Intermediates and Textile Auxiliaries for export to East European markets. In 1985, a direct relationship with Hoechst AG was established for sale of Dye Intermediates which fuelled growth and development.In 1997, Mr. M.P. Aggarwal, Chairman - Sajjan India Limited moved the chemical operations to the current site in Ankleshwar (Gujarat). In 2001 we further diversified into manufacturing of Agro Intermediates. In 2003, we ventured into manufacturing customer patented products under technology transfer agreements.In 2006, a fully automated plant for manufacturing Electronic Chemicals under an evergreen supply agreement was setup.Between 2007 and 2016 62 CDA's were signed and 24 products were commercialized. Also, a new fully automated plant for manufacturing Active Ingredients was setup. Strategic and high quality sourcing combined with cost effective manufacturing gives us a competitive edge. Our 'Lean Management Structure' helps in quick decision making and customer response. A dedicated technical team implements tech packages, in-house engineering and process development. A flexible production set-up having multi step chemical process with a wide range of chemical reactions helps us develop new products with minimal modifications and capital investment. Today, Sajjan is one of India's leading contract manufacturer having expertise in large scale production of Active Ingredients (Agro), Electronic Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals and Intermediates having application in Agrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Dyestuff with focus on environment, health and safety.
