Job Description

• Responsible and accountable for the overall performance of the Nursing department. (ICU, DayCare, Dialysis. Responsible for day to day operation, administration and co-ordination of Nursing Division. Provides leadership, staff development, and mentoring and resource management in the daily nursing operations. Responsible for developing nursing policies that focus on the care of patient, as well as helping to attract and retain qualified nursing personnel. Responsible in establishing and evaluating standards of nursing based on JCI/ NIAHO guidelines which ensure safe and therapeutically effective patient care. Works closely with senior management, heads of department and doctors to ensure a high standard of nursing care and meet / exceed customers expectations. Plans & develops a training module for nursing department Responsible for internal audit based on ISO/JCI/ NIAHO guidelines Defines relationships of nursing service to administrative staff, medical staff, patient and community. Prepares and maintains nursing service administrative records and reports. Assists in evaluating changing concepts of care to improve patient services. Develops, evaluates and maintains quality control indices and standards. Provides for staff development programs that include orientation and continuing education programs for all levels of personnel in the nursing service. Participates in special programs or projects that may arise out of hospital operations or department specific programs.
